MISSION STATEMENT

ABOUT OUR CLUB

The Paul Bunyan Rifle and Sportsman is a non-profit organization that operates with a set of Officers and Directors established in our Constitution.  These individuals are volunteers and are elected by the General Membership at the annual meeting held in December. The Officers consist of a:

  • President
  • Vice President
  • Recording Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Membership Secretary
  • Executive Officer
  • Master at Arms
  • Junior Advisor
  • Past President

There are five Directors that consist of four one-year positions and one two-year position. The Directors, along with the Officers, make up the Board of Directors. This group develops the operating budgets, established the by-laws and standard operating procedures, and conducts the daily business of the organization.  There are two caretakers that reside on-site who address the physical needs of the facilities and both paid and volunteer Range Officers that oversee the safe operations of all ranges during membership hours.  Each shooting discipline or major function of the organization is headed by a Committee Chair. These individuals are responsible for the safe practices of their discipline.  Any non-members at events or matches conducted by the Committee Chair are considered guests.

RANGE SAFETY OFFICER PROGRAM

To insure that our members and quests have a safe and secure place to enjoy the shooting sports, the club maintains a group of Range Safety Officers.  These Officers are representatives of the Board of Directors and are well versed on the operations of the range and all range safety rules.  They serve as the point of contact for safety or any other incidents that happen on the range complex.

With the exception of attending a match operated by a match director, all members and their guests must sign in with the on duty Range Safety Officer or at the Range Safety Officer stand on the rifle range immediately upon entering the range complex

The Safety officer program is a great place for members, who are intersted in participating in the club's operation,  to enjoy spending time with fellow shooters.

The safety officers also organize and run the annual Hunters Sight In days when the club is open to the general public to sight in their rifles just prior to Washington States rifle hunting seasons.

For more information on this program contact the Safety Officer Committee Chairman or any Range Safety Officer.
